Frederick Wallace
Managing Director
Frederick founded Bovellan in 2022, after more than a decade managing some of London's most complex and high-profile residential developments, including Chelsea Barracks and the South Kensington Wellcome Trust Estate. His career has spanned housing associations such as Family Mosaic and L&Q, as well as major managing agents including Knight Frank, where he was responsible for the management of prime London blocks.
He is committed to the highest professional standards, having achieved the top mark nationally in the Member-level qualification of The Property Institute (TPI), alongside advanced qualifications in fire safety and compliance. He also completed SQE and is building is legal work experience to eventually provide legal advice.
But what really drives Frederick is a genuine love of London's Victorian buildings. No two are alike. Each mansion block, converted terrace, and stucco-fronted crescent has its own character and quirks, its own history and community. He believes these buildings deserve to be understood as individual places, not managed as units on a spreadsheet — and that conviction is the foundation on which Bovellan was built.
Having seen how remote and standardised block management can become, Frederick set out to do it differently: a small, dedicated team, a trusted network of legal, accounting and building consultancy specialists, and a deliberately focused portfolio, so that every building receives real attention and every client knows exactly who to call.
Frederick also founded the College of Block Management, an independent education platform for RTM and RMC directors, and non-industry enthusiasts reflecting his wider commitment to raising standards and transparency across the sector.
When he's not walking a roof or reading a lease, he can usually be found admiring the architecture of whichever street he happens to be on.
Maria Gallagher
Property Assistant
Maria's route into block management is, fittingly, a leaseholder's one. It began at home: living in a block of flats, she became curious about how her building was actually run — who made the decisions, where the money went, and why things happened (or didn't). That curiosity soon turned into action, and she ended up taking a leading role in the management of her own block.
While taking time out to raise her family, Maria maintained a keen interest in the workings of residential buildings, developing particular expertise in accounting and the financial side of block management — the area where clarity and accuracy matter most to leaseholders.
She holds a degree in psychology, which serves her well in a role that is, at heart, about people: understanding what residents need, communicating clearly, and keeping many personalities and priorities moving in the same direction. Her guiding principles are simple ones — things should be done swiftly, and they should be administered correctly. It's an approach that makes her the person leaseholders quickly learn to rely on.
Having sat on the resident side of the table herself, Maria brings something into every building she works with: a genuine understanding of what it feels like to be a leaseholder, and a determination that residents should never be left wondering what's happening in their own home.
When she's not in the office, Maria can be found planning events years in advance, going to the gym, or simply relaxing with her family.

Kieran James
Property Assistant
Kieran has a background in both teaching and IT, but his interest in property management began somewhat unexpectedly while serving on his school’s facilities management committee.
Through this experience, he became fascinated by the complexity involved in managing a building and the wide range of needs that must be balanced to keep it operating effectively.
That curiosity led Kieran to gradually build his knowledge and experience in facilities and property management. Having also previously lived in a flat, he developed a particular interest in how residential buildings operate behind the scenes, from day-to-day maintenance and compliance to the wider management of shared spaces and services.
Combining his experience in education, technology and property, Kieran brings a thoughtful, practical approach to understanding buildings, solving problems and supporting the people who use them.
He is helping Bovellan improve their IT systems and how they support our clients.
When not at work, Kieran can be found playing, watching, reading, listening to anything to do with football.
